The idea
The Valley Art has been a Mill Avenue landmark since 1940. The Tempe Comedy Festival turns that screen and stage over to the people already making this town laugh every month.
Same room, new reason to walk through the doors: a full weekend of local comedy, a packed house every night, and a marquee that reads like an event instead of a showtime.

Night One
The variety show that built the room — stand-up, sketch and improv, hosted by Aaron Bare and Forbes Shannon.
Night Two
A stacked local showcase — the comics filling rooms across Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Mesa, on one marquee.
Night Three
The closing night is filmed — a streaming-style comedy special shot live from the Valley Art stage.
Lineups are subject to change. The laughs are not.

Closing night is shot like a Netflix taping: multi-camera, live audience, the theatre dressed for the screen. The festival becomes a special for the comics and a calling card for the Valley Art.
